After publishing the first post about the secret of a successful book, we want to continue to write about the same topic. In the first article, we said that the main secret for a successful book is the title. In this new article, it needs to deepen another side of creative writing, because only a good and planned creation can lead to create a successful book. The second secret for a successful book is, hence, the structure of the story, or rather, of the entire book, from the beginning to the end. The term "structure" identifies the storyline, the main idea, that is the plot. When you plan the plot of the book, you must never forget the coherence of the story. For instance, if you are telling a story of a serial killer, all other characters of the book need to be linked to the foremost character, namely the serial killer. This personage has, naturally, a mother and a father. Their presence in the story has, therefore, to explain the reason which led their son to become a serial killer. For instance, the mother may be an alcoholic, the father, a violent and perverted man. In this framework, the landscape and environment of the story are closely linked to the crimes of the serial killer. It is natural to think that two so bad arranged parents (alcoholic mother and perverted husband) could induce the son to became a person suffering from mental illness or a serial killer. By this example, you can understand that the coherent structure is fundamental to create a compelling and credible book. This rule has to be followed for any type of novel, also for fantasy and horror books. Not even the fairy tale books can be written with no coherence. This requirement is the only one capable to turn your early idea into a successful book. Every chapter, moreover, has always to be linked to the next one, by following an imaginary line you must keep in your mind forever. Before writing the book, ask yourself what you want to tell, how the story must be arranged and engineered, what must be its meaning. In order to simplify the creation work, you can begin by telling about stories coming from your life and experience or from your passion. Many famous novelists, for instance, created successful books because they were so witty and smart to write a story based only their life and passion. John Grisham, the famous novelist that Advicesbooks just reviewed yesterday, wrote the books on legal stories, trials and lawsuits because he worked as a lawyer. Some horror novelists wrote horror stories just because they love horror movies. Examples could be endless, but we prefer stopping here and ask you to take a pen and a sheet or the screen and the keyboard and write a new story by following these rules to create a successful book.
