Must a book for Halloween be scary and creepy

? Many of us believe it must. But the best book for Halloween can also be a good book or any book which is able to go straight into the heart or soul of its readers. In this post, Advicesbooks wants to suggest some titles that fit for Halloween. We want to point to those titles which according to us, are the best readings for Halloween. As everybody knows, Halloween is a holiday coming from Anglo-Saxon customs and culture. In reality, Halloween has origin by an ancient pagan ritual belonged to the Celtic people about 2000 years ago. These people, indeed, believed the dead could survive to the physical death and to rise as a ghost or spirit who walked along with other living beings. The ghost awoke just during the eve of All Saints, Christian holiday falling on November 1st. The eve, instead, falls on October 31. This date was called Halloween, the night of the witches or only Halloween. During this night, children (and sometimes also adults) wear costumes and masks of monsters and go around to knock the door of neighbours to ask for sweets, biscuits, candies and other stuff. When a child knocks your door, he usually says: “ Trick or treat!”. Naturally, it is better to give a treat, because, otherwise, you can receive even a bad joke! But, coming back to the best books and titles for Halloween, we want to suggest you three horror and ghost books that are real cult in the field of horror fiction. One is titled Full Dark, No Stars, by the master of horror and scary literature, namely Stephen King. Buy here.Full Dark No Stars is a collection of tales where readers will discover the stories about a father who kills his wife in front of his son, a seller who meets the devil and makes a pact with the latter to get health, money, happiness and eternal life and a famous novelist who is raped by a strange and mysterious truck driver. The second title is the Thirteen, by Susie Moloney, another book Advicesbooks has already reviewed. You can also read our interview with the famous novelist. The Thirteen is the story of 13 friends who, in order to resolve serious and dramatic financial problems, make ( also them!) a pact with a demon. Because of this pact, the women get all she wants by becoming as real witches with strange and dangerous powers. To keep these powers, the women are forced to stay together forever and be always thirteen. Buy here. The third title, not reviewed by Advicesbooks, but examined a few hours ago carefully, is titled The Ghost Files, by Apryl Baker, a successful book consisting of two sequels that got the same success. The Ghost Files is a very compelling ghost story where a girl, Mattie, has the gift to talk to dead people, one of them is her sister Sally, who disappeared some years earlier in a mysterious way. Buy here.Another book you can read for Halloween is The Little Stranger, by Sarah Waters, who we reviewed right last week. Buy here. That is another ghost story with a surprising end.  It is obvious that the books listed in this article are suitable for adult readers. There would also be books for children, but not having still reviewed them, we don’t’ feel to advise any titles. Image source: hopsa.co.za
