while now, eBooks have been revolutionizing the way people read. It’s really simple and straightforward just to load a .pdf or .epub file onto your tablet and there’s no need to carry a book around – just your device.You can read anywhere, and you can have as many books with you as you please, which has drawn the attention of many people worldwide. It’s definitely much easier to organize all your literature with eBooks, and they last as long you have a hard drive to keep them on.

They’re Eco-Friendly

No trees have to be sacrificed in order to make an eBook, and once one it’s created you can make a potentially infinite number of copies. So not only will you be protecting the rainforests by switching to eBooks, but you can copy them to any device you wish, and there’s no risk of spilling coffee all over them (I think we’ve all been there). It’s a known fact that from 2006 to 2009, over 200 million eBooks were downloaded free of charge from Project Gutenberg and the World eBook Fair. By contrast, in order to make 200 million books, you’d have to cut down more than 3 million trees. That’s a lot of lumber.

They’re Cheap

Because of the very nature of eBooks, it’s much more expensive to obtain a physical copy than it is to download an eBook. By default, shipping charges are zero, because it costs close to nothing to download an eBook from a server. Additionally, you aren’t paying for the paper and the printing charges, which you normally are when purchasing a physical book. You might be thinking “oh, but I have to buy a tablet to read an eBook”, and while that may be true (you can still read them on your PC or smartphone), it’s a one-time investment that quickly pays itself off if you tend to buy a lot of books.

They Take Up No Space

If you’re an avid reader and go through a couple of books a month, you definitely know how much of a challenge it is to find room for your ever-expanding home library. You won’t have this problem with eBooks, as the only space that’ll be limiting you is your hard disk space. And, since hard disks are constantly increasing in size and eBooks only take up a few megabytes (at most), you’ll never run out of space. And more importantly, perhaps, you’ll never lose another book again.

Did you ever come across a garage sale or a bookstore just giving away free books for nothing in return? Us neither. The good news is that this is now a reality with eBooks. A lot of generous people are giving away their written content for free in the shape of PDF downloads, no strings attached. There are literally dozens of websites out there, such as Bookari Free or Scribd that offer free eBook downloads (although some of them are geo-blocked, so you might need a VPN), which you can literally access at the push of a few buttons.
