Dear readers, my service to add books in English to an Italian library goes on. This morning (the Italian time),  I have added another book to the library of my country, in Sicily. The book is titled Safe & Sound by American-Polish novelist T.S. Krupa. I didn’t have the pleasure to review this book, yet, but when the paper version has arrived in Italy I decided to read and review it, in order to write my opinion in this press release.   Safe & Sound is a kind of book that readers can read in one breath because is the typical story that catches you since the first moment you browse the book pages. The plot is compelling, unforgettable and tells about the topic of grief and loss and how to heal from a severe grief when especially you lost your ones or one of them. The main character of the book is Jill, a garden teacher who married her soul mate Jay, a successful lawyer. When a day Jay abruptly dies in a car accident, Jill’s life falls apart and changes forever. But the journey of Jill into the dark depths of this grief causes awful nightmares to her. Fortunately, Jill has many friends who help her to recover a bit, but step by step, this widow will discover Jay was not the husband she believed to know and that solitude is not the best choice when a grief overwhelms you while you are still a beautiful and young woman. I told about the plot to the Italian librarians who were very happy to catalogue this wonderful and heartfelt novel in English in the municipal library of Grammichele, my country, in Sicily. I was also very happy for adding this novel to the Italian library. As of today, Safe and Sound will be available for Italian readers who want to improve the English language. I must admit that author’s writing is perfect, well arranged over the several chapters, dry and sharp sentences made the plot amazing and easily understandable for foreign readers, also. Furthermore, this story is intertwined with a swirl of grief and hope that keep a wonderful meaning, namely: there is always a room to be happy in this life, even though bad and sad events show us that is not so. Happiness and joy can be gained only step by step and “a step at a time”, as the author has well written during the journey of Jill. I am sure Italian readers will love Safe& Sound as I have loved it because poignant novels like Safe and Sound are very rare today and deserve to be rewarded by readers in libraries, in the Italian library and in the book shops all over the world.
