I am still wondering what pushed, one of my authors to write me a traditional letter. Yes, a very traditional letter, not an email message, but a paper sheet that authorCameron Carr typed from his PC desktop to simply tell me thanks! I sent the letter from Canada to my address in Italy. I read the letter in one breath, carefully, as if Cameron were here, in front of me, in Italy. He signed the letter with his handwritten signature, also the greetings were handwritten . Only the body of the letter has been written with the PC keyboard because Cameron was much tired. He is a self-published author who works to earn a living. I received the letter during the Easter holiday, but I could publish the letter only these days, due to my previous commitments to promote new authors in Italy and Europe. As I said, I am still asking myself the reasons of this letter. The main reasons are just inside the words written by Cameron. He is a very courageous man, because suffered from mental illness in the past and decided to tell his story in a book I reviewed and promoted last year. You can see my review here and my press release at this link. Here is what Cameron wrote to me:" I’m finally sitting down to write you a letter to say thank-you and, hi! I feel I must thank you in a more personal way than email, because you have helped me greatly in what I am trying to do. I am really trying to spread information about mental illness, particularly the disease known as schizophrenia…". In the letter, Cameron opened his heart to talk about his disease and his battle to take his experience and his book to many hands, in order to raise the mindfulness about mental illness, especially schizophrenia, known as one among the most severe mental diseases. Cameron won his hard battle against his mental problem and for this, he decided to help other people with the same problems through his book titled The Diabolic Labyrinth my walk with Schizophrenia. I only helped Cameron to spread information about his literary work. The book is now searched from readers on the search engines and I really hope that it becomes a bestseller very soon. In the envelope, I found also cards from Canada (the author lives in that Country) and one of his paintings ( see the image). Cameron is also a painter! Writer and painter, the most creative jobs! I hope that people buy not only his book, but also his paintings. Sometimes people blamed me because I ask for money for my book promotion services, a small amount of money, from 5 to 50 euros, the most of the times, is only to support this literary blog and not to steal pennies to people. I am not interested in this. Fierce and pointless digital marketing is not my priority, I want only to talk about useful books and help authors make their works known in Italy and Europe, also. Books open our mind and delay brain aging. They ever hurt and killed nobody! I think that Cameron did a great job with his book! For this reason I published his sweet gesture to write me a letter. There is not publicity in this post, nor seo, neither something other reason but to say my thanks to Cameron for appreciating my book promotion job as much as I appreciated his book.
